When the sun rises in the eastern sector of the sky, then all the skies over the great continent of Jambudvipa in the south [the entire world] will be illuminated because of the vast light that the sun possesses.
“The Tripitaka Master Shan-wu-wei,” The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, vol.1, p. 169
When the sun rises, all darkness vanishes. Nichiren Buddhism is the Buddhism of the sun illuminating all humankind.
The sun of time without beginning—our innate Buddhahood—arises within us when we chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo. It dispels the fundamental darkness inherent in life and heralds a bright, hope-filled dawn.
In accord with Nichiren Daishonin’s wish to enable all people to attain Buddhahood, let us brighten the lives of everyone we encounter, as well as our communities, society and the world with the great light of the Mystic Law.
