I have been brooding alone upon this matter [the suffering of the people due to the three calamities and seven disasters], indignant in my heart, but now that you have come, we can lament together. Let us discuss the question at length.
“On Establishing the Correct Teaching for the Peace of the Land,” The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, vol. 1, p. 7
Nichiren Daishonin’s writings pulse vibrantly with the spirit of dialogue.
Let’s reach out and talk with others—to find a way to solve people’s suffering and create a better society. Our efforts to realize the Daishonin’s ideal of “establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land” are bringing this spirit of dialogue to flower in the 21st century.
Callous indifference and irresponsible words only spread anxiety. Through sincere and courageous dialogue, let us continue to help others form a connection with Nichiren Buddhism as a cause for their happiness and build a growing network of hope and trust.
