Now, when Nichiren and his followers chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, thinking in that way to save all the living beings of this country of Japan, is this not an example of the great mercy of the World-Honored One [Shakyamuni Buddha]?

Nichiren Daishonin, the Buddha of the Latter Day of the Law, began chanting Nam-myoho-renge-kyo to enable all people to attain genuine happiness. The Soka Gakkai is the organization striving in accord with the Daishonin’s intent and, in this way, repaying the great debt of gratitude we owe him.
Because of this, we can tap limitless power to benefit others and lead them to enlightenment. We can create the greatest hope in the most trying times.
Dedicating our lives to kosen-rufu is the best way of showing our appreciation for our good fortune.
Let’s make our year-end discussion meetings an occasion to thank and praise our fellow members for their tremendous efforts in this challenging year.
