Nichiren Buddhism places great importance on the spoken and written word, on using our voices, for they have the power to lead people to happiness. The Soka Gakkai has consistently worked to promote literary and print culture based on Nichiren Daishonin’s writings.
Second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda’s advice to make time for reading and contemplation is ageless. Let’s read as many good books as possible.
It’s also crucial to be able to distinguish between statements that are true or false, right or wrong.
Let’s make this a season of imparting sincere words of encouragement that will be a source of hope, courage and revitalization for others.
