In the midst of his ordeal of exile on Sado Island, Nichiren Daishonin entrusted his disciples with the momentous undertakings of the westward transmission of Buddhism, worldwide kosen-rufu, and establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land. The mentors and disciples of Soka are actualizing the vision cherished by the Daishonin in modern times.
My mentor, second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda, waged a struggle against the devilish nature inherent in life that threatened people’s very right to exist, and called upon the youth to abolish nuclear weapons.
Let’s solidly unite for peace and continue our unflagging efforts to make the philosophy of respect for the dignity of life the spirit of the age!
