The moon appears in the west and sheds its light eastward, but the sun rises in the east and casts its rays to the west. The same is true of Buddhism. It spread from west to east in the Former and Middle Days of the Law, but will travel from east to west in the Latter Day.
“On the Buddha’s Prophecy,” The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, vol 1, p. 401
We are spreading Nichiren Buddhism, the great Buddhism of the Sun, throughout the world. To be actualizing Nichiren Daishonin’s prophecy of the westward transmission of Buddhism and worldwide kosen-rufu is our unsurpassed pride.
We are living in increasingly chaotic times. Humanity is longing for a hope-filled philosophy that allows all people to shine, a humanistic philosophy that enables us to create value in the form of harmony and happiness.
The more we share Nichiren Buddhism with others, the more we can sow the seeds of peace. As Bodhisattvas of the Earth with the mission of telling people about the greatness of the Mystic Law, let’s continue to chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo with strong faith and reach out to others in sincere dialogue!
