Please refer to cdc.gov for further information on the new coronavirus (COVID-19) and how to prevent illness.
The following symptoms may appear 2–14 days after exposure to COVID-19.
How the Coronavirus Spreads
The best way to prevent illness is to avoid being exposed to this virus.
COVID-19 is thought to spread mainly among people who are in close contact with one another (about 6 feet) through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes, which can then be inhaled.
Take Steps to Protect Yourself and Others
Clean your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or with hand sanitizer that has at least 60% alcohol—especially after being in a public place, blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing. Avoid close contact with people who are sick, and keep distance from others if COVID-19 is spreading in your community. If you think you have been exposed to COVID-19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your doctor for medical advice.Stay home if you’re sick,
except to get medical care.Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.Throw away used tissues.Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze.Wear a face mask
if you are sick or caring for someone who is sick.Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces daily
(including your phone).
