U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges 2021” ranks Soka University of America in a tie for 28th among national liberal arts colleges and fourth among liberal arts colleges in California. SUA also came in at No. 1 for study abroad and No. 4 for faculty resources.
Daisaku Ikeda founded SUA’s undergraduate program in Aliso Viejo, California, on May 3, 2001, “to foster a steady stream of global citizens committed to living a contributive life.” The nonsectarian university is founded on the principles of peace, human rights and the sanctity of life. SUA is open to top students of all nationalities and beliefs. Admitted students whose annual family income is $60,000 or less may be eligible for full tuition Soka Opportunity Grants.
