I have no words to adequately express my gratitude for your [Toki Jonin’s] long-standing devotion. I look forward to the day when we can meet and I can say all that is in my heart.
“On Establishing the Four Bodhisattvas as the Object of Devotion,” The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, vol. 1, p. 976
Nichiren Daishonin sincerely wished to meet each of his followers face-to-face to share with them all that was in his heart and to encourage them. This was the profound compassion of the Buddha of the Latter Day of the Law.
Always remember that we can engage in a life-to-life dialogue with Nichiren when we chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo to the Gohonzon.
In this same letter, he also urges, “Practice as I do” (WND-1, 978). Upholding the unsurpassed humanistic philosophy taught to us directly by the Daishonin, let’s continue to expand our network of encouragement so that no one is left behind.
