Soka University of America Turns 20

Daisaku Ikeda founded Soka University of America in Aliso Viejo, Calif., on May 3, 2001, to foster a steady stream of global citizens committed to living a contributive life. The private, nonsectarian liberal arts university is founded on the principles of peace, human rights and the sanctity of life. SUA celebrates its 20th anniversary on May 3! Ikeda Sensei established its undergraduate program in 2001 in Aliso Viejo, California, based on the Buddhist principles of peace, human rights and the dignity of life.
