One who chants the daimoku [Nam-myoho-renge-kyo] as the Lotus Sutra teaches will never have a twisted mind. For one should know that, unless the mind of the Buddha enters into our bodies, we cannot in fact chant the daimoku.
“The Blessings of the Lotus Sutra,” The Writings of Nichiren Daishonin, vol. 1, p. 670
A life anchored in the writings of Nichiren Daishonin is strong and full of hope. We of the Soka Gakkai, united by the bonds of mentor and disciple, chant Nam-myoho-renge-kyo with true and sincere hearts. We engage in dialogues in society to realize the Daishonin’s ideal of “establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land.” The spirit of the Buddha pulses vibrantly within us.
The spirit of the oneness of mentor and disciple is the key to breaking through all obstacles and achieving all our goals (see WND-1, 618). Powerfully chanting the lion’s roar of Nam-myoho-renge-kyo, let’s forge ahead unerringly on the noble path to supreme victory in life.
