In [“The Teacher of the Law” chapter of] the Lotus Sutra, it is said that one who in the past has made offerings to a hundred thousand million Buddhas will, when reborn in a later existence, be unshakable in faith. You [the lay nun Sennichi], then, must be a woman who has made offerings to a hundred thousand million Buddhas.

Having faith that remains steadfast and unflinching in the face of obstacles and devilish functions is proof that we possess boundless good fortune from past existences. It is a song of inner triumph that will endure eternally.
Nichiren Daishonin, the Buddha of the Latter Day of the Law, would surely bestow the highest praise on our dedicated Many Treasures Group members—the Sennichis and Abutsu-bos of Soka. Though aging may lead to declines in mental and physical capacities, it can never destroy the “treasures of the heart” (“The Three Kinds of Treasure,” WND-1, 851). All of you already enjoy an unshakable state of life imbued with the four noble Buddha virtues of eternity, happiness, true self and purity.
As honorable champions of life, may you continue to live long, healthy lives!
