SGI-USA Youth Leaders
To the precious members of the SGI-USA, thank you for your unending support of the youth!
On March 16, we commemorate 65 years since second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda passed the baton of kosen-rufu to the youth. In 1958, amid their own struggles, the youth of that time stood up based on an awareness of their unique mission with their mentor.
This March, we will hold youth general meetings to celebrate the youth of America awakening to our profound mission as Bodhisattvas of the Earth.
Ikeda Sensei says: “To emerge as a Bodhisattva of the Earth is to carry out a revolution in our state of life. Spreading this revolution of life state from one person to another is the effort to transform the life state of society and to elevate the life state of humanity as a whole” (The Wisdom for Creating Happiness and Peace, vol. 3, pp. 27–28).
The profundity of our practice is that it expounds the power of each of us, as Bodhisattvas of the Earth, ceaselessly taking action each day as a cause to experience our great potential. As we accumulate these steps each day, we can create an unstoppable momentum to always move forward with vibrant energy and life force.
Toward these meetings, we will unite with the full Soka family to:
1) do in-person home visits to help even one more youth awaken to their profound mission;
2) plant seeds of Buddhahood together, spreading this revolution of life state from one person to another; and
3) support the district family in bringing out their squad of youth to the March Youth General Meeting.
The March Youth General Meetings will be the first opportunity for youth to gather in person on a zone or region level since early 2020. We are determined that the noble bodhisattvas who attend will emerge dancing, having experienced the power of planting seeds and fighting for a personal victory.
Our call to each district is: Who will be in the youth squad of bodhisattvas that you send to the March Youth General Meeting?
