Nichiren Daishonin likens the beautiful fragrance of a flower to the outstanding character of an individual. Sincere actions and heartfelt words based on compassionate prayer have the power to deeply touch and penetrate people’s lives, inspiring a wonderful change in their hearts.
Our homes, workplaces and communities are all places for nurturing “friends in the orchid room.” Bringing forth the beautiful innate fragrance of our lives—entities of the Mystic Law like pure lotus flowers—let’s joyfully continue fostering trust and understanding. For this is the path to realizing the Daishonin’s ideal of “establishing the correct teaching for the peace of the land!”
