The SGI-USA has appointed Emi Gwin to its board of directors.
The chief executive officer of Sympo, Inc., a software development and consulting firm, Ms. Gwin has over 25 years of client services and project management experience with sole proprietorship to Fortune 100 companies. She has worked with a wide array of industries including retail, real estate, healthcare and utilities. Her primary focus is driving efficiency through streamlining workflow and business processes utilizing technology and automation.
Originally from San Diego, where she grew up practicing Nichiren Buddhism, Ms. Gwin now lives in Boston and supports members there as a vice women’s region leader.
The SGI-USA’s board of directors oversees operations and reviews financial statements and internal controls. The board now comprises 14 members who bring a variety of rich professional expertise to their responsibilities.
Directors serve a three-year staggered term and are eligible for reappointment.
