The Soka Gakkai’s theme for 2025 has been announced: the Year of Soaring Higher Toward a Youthful Soka Gakkai Worldwide.

The Nov. 1, 2024, issue of the Soka Gakkai’s daily newspaper, Seikyo Shimbun, noted that next year will mark several milestones:

• 95th anniversary of the Soka Gakkai’s founding
• 125th anniversary of second Soka Gakkai President Josei Toda’s birthday
• 65th anniversary of Ikeda Sensei’s inauguration as third Soka Gakkai president and his first overseas trip for kosen-rufu
• 50th anniversary of the founding of the Soka Gakkai International (SGI)

Referring to these significant anniversaries, Soka Gakkai President Minoru Harada stressed that, given the tumultuous state of the world, the Soka Gakkai’s work to transform the destiny of humanity is more important than ever. He expressed his wish for the organization to build upon its efforts made in 2024—the first year of creating a “Youthful Soka Gakkai Worldwide”—toward the Soka Gakkai’s centennial in 2030.

Further, he cited two passages from The New Human Revolution: “The struggle for kosen-rufu is an endless flight,”[1] and “The spirit of the Soka Gakkai is to always boldly face adversity and steadily advance. As long as this spirit remains, there will be growth and victory.”[2]

Toward the Soka Gakkai’s centennial, President Harada said that the Soka Gakkai will soar higher as a world religion as each member lives with the Soka Gakkai spirit to never be defeated in the face of even the harshest winds. Moreover, he asked everyone to warmly nurture the treasured members of the future division and the successors of the youth division so that they may take flight onto the stage of their missions to make the “Youthful Soka Gakkai Worldwide” ever stronger.
